Our workshop in Tijarafe has become a meeting place for wonderful people who appreciate genuine craftsmanship and high-quality handmade products, and who enjoy watching a one-of-a-kind piece come to life. It has become another special attraction for visitors to La Palma, making a trip to the north-west of the island well worth it.

Why do we never make the same bag twice?

Because every bag is unique. Each one deserves to find an owner who is just as individual and distinctive as it is. After all, it will be looking after your most personal and indispensable belongings: your keys, wallet, phone…

Every bag is given its own unique number, which is permanently sewn into the lining or, in the case of our wood-and-leather bags, branded onto the inside. This means you can always identify your bag by its number or find it again on our website, where we photograph and publish every finished bag and backpack.

We also record every piece in our database, together with all the materials and colours used in its creation. That way, we can be absolutely certain that we’ve never made the same bag before. After all, memories fade – good organisation and careful documentation don’t.

Why don’t we use faux leather?

Sustainability is very important to us. That’s why we love natural materials and choose not to make products from petroleum-based materials.

For those who prefer not to use leather, we also create bags and backpacks from traditional boiled wool (Walkloden), made from 100% pure new wool. It’s an exceptionally durable natural material that we admire greatly and which is finding its place in contemporary design. It’s long-lasting, wonderfully tactile and made to be enjoyed for many years.

Strictly speaking, boiled wool isn’t completely vegan either. However, sheep benefit from being shorn, and regular shearing is an essential part of responsible animal welfare. It therefore makes perfect sense to turn this valuable natural resource into beautiful, long-lasting products.

Why aren’t our bags designed for a particular gender?

Because we believe nobody should feel restricted in wearing what they love. It’s really that simple.

We’ve often looked at a bag and thought, “That’s definitely one for a man.” Yet more often than not, it ends up being bought by a woman. Perhaps because men already have trouser pockets…

So, dear ladies: don’t hesitate to surprise your husband or partner with a more adventurous bag. He deserves something better than the usual black or brown bag – or permanently overstuffed trouser pockets. Besides, we’re certain he’ll look even better carrying it.

And dear gentlemen: we’re always touched by how many of you visit us looking for the perfect bag as a gift for your partner. It’s a wonderful idea, because there’s nothing quite like receiving a gift that’s as unique as the person receiving it.
